She is slowly improving but grumbles about taking lessons. She is under the mistaken impression that she can teach herself how to play – “just like Tori Amos.” I tell my daughter she needs lessons because Tori Amos is a genius at the piano and my daughter is no Tori Amos.
While I was really excited to move and I am all settled into my new apartment, there are some things that happened that I didn’t anticipate. And the main one has caused everything I do to take longer.
I lived in my last place for 10 years – to me that’s a long time and it’s the longest I’ve ever lived in the same house. Even when I was a kid we never lived in the same house for that long. I didn’t realize how many things I did were almost automatically done by my brain and would have to be relearned.
I can’t believe that I have a 5th grader! It seems like she was just a 2 year old singing “Up above the world so high …” over and over again. Just that one line of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star rather than the entire song ;-)
The kid grew so much this summer and got a lot taller – Continue …
We are finally all moved and settled in!
The move went much better than anticipate and the movers I hired, Mambo Movers, were excellent.
It took about a full week to get all settled and organized after the move but part of that was because the main bathroom was still being renovated. I was annoyed and stressed out about that because it should have been done before my move but now that I see how new and sparkly it is, I feel that it was worth it.
