India’s river linking plan threatens forests
The magazine pointed out, the natural drainage of the rivers will be disrupted leading to water logging of surrounding farmland, reducing the amount of crops that can be grown. Linking canals will also prevent the free movement of wildlife, especially elephants and tigers, which will then be forced to enter villages and small towns, where they will be trapped or killed, it added.” - The New Nation

nothing good can be done without risk or taking chances.so when we talk about river linking plan we will have to think of enormous favourable outputs this plan can come with.afterall after a longtime our politicians look in a positive mode.
every year atleast 3 to 5 of our states face droughts which affects in every way to our country.we have an example of this shining inida before us where a good monsoon ‘ll hav to b counted as a factor.if one year’s monsoon can give such output then even a dumbo can calculate what may happen if it continues.as far as forest life is concerned just make a good plan n then make it alive and future would be of great prosperous india.
We are opposing the interlinking of rivers in South India. This is useless and impractical.
It costs heavily.
We hate who one proposed for river linking. We love only our soil, forest, and nature.
Thanking you
