Read that in Burma(or Mynamar), they’re following Buddhism teaching not to kill elephants, but would like them to answer, does Buddhism encourage torturing of elephants in training them using the worst mahout model & to kill their spirits altogether by beating/injuring them. These selfish people have reasons to close world eyes but what they’re doing is even worse than killing, to make elephants as “slave creatures” to feed their personal needs. Watched documentary video on how they train young elephants, huge question of whether these people have sentiments needs to be answered by themselves.
