Crops devastated by elephants - Wasgamuwa
” The residents of Minipe area recently staged a protest in front of Wilgamuwa Divisional Secretariat demanding an immediate solutions to the wild elephant threat in the area. Recently a herd of wild elephants from Wasgamuwa forest reserve roamed into Radunewewa village in Minipe colony destroyed 14 houses and caused serious injuries to several farmers. The protestors requested the Divisional Secretary A.B.Herath to take up the issue with the Wildlife Conservation Department.” - Daily Mirror
