Film-maker sued for cruelty to animals

“People for Animals (Mumbai), a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) moved the HC on Wednesday for a ban on screening the film on the grounds that the filmmaker violated the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The petition, filed in public interest, contended that monkeys, elephants, a tiger, goats and even wolves are depicted in many scenes without the mandatory permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India. ” - The Times of India
