Oh – he must have blocked an entire range of IP addresses. Not the best way to deal with a spam problem.

What is the alternative plugin? Do you have a link for it?

Click on the link to Mike’ site you provide.
Get a message saying my IP has spammed his site.
Go where he says, to type “sorry” … like it’s my fault.
Go back to the original robot trap, as instructed.
Find I’m back being told I’m banned because my IP spammed his site.

OK, so maybe I need to refresh, or something, but WTF? This is no way to treat a guest.

Not that I’m bothered any more as the alternative plug-in I found works perfectly for me.

I’m not sure what you mean by being “trapped in Mike’s endless robot fun”. But whatever that is it doesn’t sound pleasant.

I’ve been working more with category exclusion and may have finally figured out how to do it. Hopefully I will write about it soon.

Came here looking to exclude a category from my main page in a Thesis theme I am developing and went looking for the plug-in you recommend, only to get trapped in Mike’s endless robot fun.

So I’ll never know whether it works, despite your recommendation, or why Mike banned me.

Too bad, really.

But there is another plug-in that might do the job.
