Happy Thanksgiving!! Unfortunately, I will not be able to partake in the festivities as I have been very sick all week. Alex and Marc are better so they are going to go.

Alexandra had a lot of fun Thanksgiving weekend - especially since Daddy was home for 4 days. On Thanksgiving we went to Marc’s Uncle John’s house and has a really good time. Alma, Lisa, Jon, Ben and other relatives were there. Marc’s cousin Dan just got engaged (to Jess, the woman he brought to our wedding) so that was a lot of fun. Next summer will be the summer of weddings - Lisa and Jon in June and Dan and Jess in July. Alex behaved so well and was really delightful - I was suprised because she didn’t really get a nap - she took a short nap on the car ride there and back but her naps didn’t even total an hour. She ran around the house, played outside with the dog (it was warm out) and socialized with everyone. She was, however, really tired by the end of the day and went to bed an hour early. Overall, it was a really pleasant Thanksgiving.
On Friday we went shopping because we still had a rental car. I was a little nervous that there would be too many shoppers but it wasn’t too bad except for Toys R Us and they had it really organized so you were able to checkout without too much trouble. We went to Target and Toys R Us and bought some Christmas gifts. Again, Alex was wonderful but she did get a little frustrated because she wants to touch everything and doesn’t understand why she can’t. I’m sure she was also overwhelmed by all of the toys and shoppers - I know that I was
We bought Alex a little purple backpack with a baby doll that has a little carrier on the outside of it. She LOVES it. She loves to play with the doll and she carries the backpack all over the house - I think she is pretending that she is Mommy (I have a purple backpack too). After we were done shopping we went out to lunch at the Oregon Diner. At first Alex was cranky but I think she was hungry and was getting tired. Once her food came she was a lot happier - she had a bagel and some of Marc’s blueberry pancakes, which she loved. We were going to go grocery shopping on the way home but Alex was really tired so Marc brought us home and he went to the store by himself. After shopping he returned the rental car. We did so much, Alex had a great time and we got a lot of errands done.
The rest of the weekend was a lot quieter but we still had a lot of fun and Marc got to spend a lot of time with Alex. On Saturday we ordered Christmas cards and got Alex some winter clothes at the Thrift store - we got 6 different things for $8 - some overalls and sweatshirts. One of the sweatshirts has Elmo on it and she loves it. On Sunday we went to church, which went pretty well considering Alex is a toddler. After church Marc took Alex on a stroller ride to do some errands and I went over to Jon’s house to work on his computer.
Today is Alex’s second Thanksgiving. We are going over to Marc’s Uncle John’s house this afternoon. If she doesn’t get too overtired, Alex should have a good time - she is SO social.

Alex celebrated her first Thanksgiving today! We went to Delaware to Marc’s Uncle Ray and Aunt Margrit’s house - it was so much fun and Alex had a ball playing with her Aunt Lisa. There was about 10 people there … Alex was so good all day until the end but then she got cranky because she was overtired. And, of course, she cried almost all the way home - she really hates being in the car seat. But overall it was a great day.
