Yesterday when we were out at lunch Alex said that she was never getting married. My friend Jim looked at me and said, “Maybe she could marry Knox Pitt.” Knox is one of Brad Pitt’s new twins. Alex looked up and shouted, “My name is not Mouse Pit.”

Alex had her 5th birthday party on Saturday June 9th. All of her family was there on the Britton side and a couple of her friends. She had a Wizard of Oz theme - she still loves Dorothy. She had a wonderful time and got some great gifts. I can’ believe that she is 5 - she seems to think that being 5 makes her more grown-up and that she can do whatever she wants now.

On her actual birthday on the 12th she had a party at Pre-K with cupcakes and a pinata. The pinata was a princess castle and had strings for the kids to pull rather then having the kind that the kids try to beat with a stick. After school and work we took her out to eat at Olive Garden, which is one of her favorite restaurants., I told them it was her birthday and the staff sang Happy Birthday in Italian and gave her a chocolate cake. Alex kept saying, “How did they know it was my birthday?”

Happy Birthday to David Asta!!! We love you and are sorry that we couldn’t come to your party.

Last Friday, the 8th, I went to New York for the day to visit Natalie and baby Sarah. I couldn’t believe how tiny and cute Sarah was. John spent most of the day with David so Natalie and I had a chance to talk and hang out with the newborn. It was great to see them. I think all of us are going up for a visit in the middle of May. There are picture on April 2005 .

Natalie had the baby last night at 9pm!!! I had a message last night and missed the call so I don’t know all of the details yet - I can’t wait to see them.

Ok - I got more details… the baby’s name is Sarah Ellis Asta, she was born March 16th at 9pm and weighed 6 lbs 7 ounces ( a little peanut). I just spoke to Natalie briefly and am going to talk to her again in a little while.

I’ve added new photos to February 2005. There are pictures of Alex playing in the snow on a nice sunny day and of Max’s birthday party yesterday.

This morning we went to Max’s 3rd birthday party!! Alex had a wonderful time. It was at the Smith Playhouse at Fairmount Park. It is so cool because it is an old mansion that is filled with things for kids ages 5 and under. In the basement are cars and upstairs is a lego room and a room filled with a puppet theatre, a play kitchen, and baby dolls. Alex was in her glory - it was funny too because this morning she didn’t want to go but as soon as we got there she was like ok - this is really cool.

The playhouse also has a big playground but that is currently being renovated and should be finished this summer. I though it would be hard to get there but it was a trolley, a bus and a short walk so we will definately go there again (especially since it is free). When the party was over Alex gave Max a hug and a kiss and wished him a happy birthday - too cute. I should have the pictures ready in the next couple of days.

Natalie and David came to visit last Thursday the 20th and stayed overnight. Fortunately, they came and left before the gas and heat problem started and the snowstorm (I’ll write about that in another entry). We had a great time and Alex and David have so much fun playing together - I have some pictures and a video that I will hopefully upload later (It’s still too cold in the living room to use the computer for very long). Natalie is due in 2 months and looks great (she’s having a girl). It’s always hard to believe that she will get even bigger. So, she wanted to come visit before she got too big - we will go see her when the baby comes (maybe sooner if we can work it out).

Alex and David really like playing together but they are wild and make such a mess. They were so excited to play together that they couldn’t sit still to eat and didn’t want to go to bed - especially Alex. Marc gave them a bath together and they had a lot of fun playing in the tub. I’m anxious for when they are a little older and can play with less supervision so Natalie can have conversations that are less interrupted.
