Stuff This in Your RSS – 12/9/08 – Freelance Folder
Yesterday I published my guide to finding freelance work with Twitter. Since freelancing seems to be a popular topic, I’ve decided to make it the theme for this week. In keeping with the freelancing theme, I’ve made Freelance Folder my RSS recommendation of the week.
Freelance Folder provides articles and resources for entrepreneurs and freelancers. There is also a lot of good practical advice.
In their own words:
Freelance Folder is a multi-authored blog dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and freelancers. Whether you’re a blogger, writer, publisher, designer, artist, small business owner or entrepreneur, Freelance Folder is for you. At Freelance Folder you will find articles that provides you with the tools and information you need to succeed!
Some of my favorite articles are about dealing with clients. Surprise, surprise – people can be difficult. Shocking, huh?
I also need the business articles. While I may be good at what I do, I am not so great with business matters and need all the advice and information that I can get my hands on.
Here’s a list of articles that I especially like.
- Biting The Bullet: 5 Reasons Why Arguing With Unruly Clients Will Get You Nowhere
- Is Your Website Helping Or Hurting Your Business?
- How To Start a Freelance Business Today (Tools for Beginners)
If you’re thinking about freelancing, just getting started with it, or are just looking for some practical advice, Freelance Folder is worth checking out.

I’ve subscribed – this sounds very good Kim!
And, yes – if it weren’t for people, life would be easy! But I suppose life wouldn’t be any fun? I guess I’ll stick with having people around!!
Thanks for sharing this new resource – I’m looking forward to really digging into it!

Would you please write a post about how to have comments per a certain amount of time, rather than per post?

@Lance – You are an early bird just like me. Actually I usually schedule the articles to publish when I’m still asleep … I’m glad you found the site useful.
@Cath – Thanks! I’m going to take a look at the ebook. Unfortunately, I download them and they sit on my desktop annoyed with me because they remain unread. ;-)
@Wesley – I’m not really sure what you are asking. Also, the question doesn’t really pertain to the topic of this article so I think it’s time for me to write a comment policy. ;-)
@Stratos – Freelance Folder isn’t really a job service – they just provide valuable information for freelancers.

Just in time!
I am starting to get some freelance work (actually just one for now), hopefully to transition to full-time self employment, including my website, once we move out of the area. I can use all the help/advice I can get!

@Stratos – Ok, sorry for misunderstanding :-)
@Carla – That’s awesome. I really want to leave my F/T job too but the way the economy is going I’m hesitant to leave it.
