Busy, busy, busy … 4 links and a video this week. We’ve got business advice, being useful on Twitter, a guide to social media etiquette, creating a free ebook, something that is going to push me over the edge next year and how to be more like the grinch.

- What’s in it for Your Followers? How to be Useful on Twitter – Tips for providing value on Twitter. Make sure, however, that you don’t let people take advantage of you.
- Social Media Etiquette Handbook – I don’t agree with everything in this guide but it’s a great guide to social media etiquette on Twitter, Facebook and Friendfeed.
- A Simple Guide to Compiling a Free E-Book – Joanna Young’s guide to compiling a free eBook. It’s simple and it covers it all.
- Coffee Shortage in 2009 – I’ve been hoping for a better year in 2009 but with a coffee shortage I don’t think it’s going to be. ;-)

Thanks for mentioning the e-book & sharing the other links. I’m not too into ‘etiquette’ guides because I think we all need to work out our own way to use these tools… on the other hand, there is some merit in thinking through how our actions might be perceived by others.
Conversational tweeting is a hard one – but the best tweeters manage to talk to others in a way that is inclusive and interesting, and allows others to learn, enjoy, or join in.
I’ll keep practicing!

@Joanna – I think with etiquette there are some basics that people need to understand but people are going to have different thoughts on what they think is appropriate.
@Shirley – Glad you enjoyed it.
@Jim – Stockpiling is an excellent idea! That might, however, bring the price up even faster ;-)
@Raju – Hopefully you’re following the tips and are completely miserable now ;-)

Kim, I just noticed this incoming link at my blog. Thanks a lot for publishing this I appreciate it.
BTW, it’s come to my attention that even with such sound advice as this some people are still being happy! I know it’s amazing, isn’t it? With that in mind part 2 is coming up before the end of the year.
Thanks again for spreading the misery and don’t forget to whine this holiday season about everything being too expensive, Christmas being too commercialized and relatives that hang around for too long ;-)
