8 WordPress Themes for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day, a holiday probably created by Hallmark and named after a martyred saint, is rapidly approaching.
Although designating one day to be set aside for love is a little off putting to the cynic in me, there really is nothing wrong with celebrating love. We should probably celebrate it every day.
So, here are 10 WordPress Themes for Valentines’ Day. Unfortunately, many of them look as if they were designed by the same people who write the sappy verses on Hallmark cards. ;-)

Nice list, Kim.
Aww, the love birds are cute. Not sure about the Pink Valentine’s theme. There’s always been something about flying babies brandishing weapons that’s made me feel uneasy.

Yeah, I’ll pass too. My daughters might like these though. :)

@Nihar – No, they definitely don’t go with your site :-)
@XIII – LOL
@Jim – LOL. Yes, babies and small children should remain unarmed ;-)
@Vered – I didn’t even think of that – I bet my daughter would like the too.

What? No Pepe Le Pew? I hope the web doesn’t become filled with these next week :)
I like the bottom few better. A bit more under-stated.
(Romantic) Social Development would work as a name for the blog

Hmm… a lot of feminine stuff I guess.
But I like those post pictures (this one as well as last post’s) that you are carefully picking for this ‘month of love’… (though I do not believe in a special day of the year where one has to vehemently love his/her spouse, partner, girl/boy friend,…)

I like the one with the little kissing ducks or chicks. Have no idea what I’d use it for. Do some people change their whole theme with the seasons?
HA! I could change mine to kissing ducks for April Fools. That would be funny. Last year I changed “lol” to “am amused, mildly” on the bad word filter and somehow caused a train wreck, so I’ll not do that again.

@Gennaro – LOL – You guessed the design I’m working on ;-)
@Ajith – Agreed – one day for love is lame. Plus it can be depressing for single people and create pressure for couples. I’m glad you liked the photos – I love those heart shaped flowers.
@Raju – A list of romantic movies to watch online? How to get a date on Twitter? Gee – I really don’t know.
@Tracy – I’m not sure but I bet there is someone out there somewhere who changes their theme with the seasons and holidays. I think it’s the same person who hangs a different flag on their front porch for each holiday.
Word filter train wrecks don’t sound fun at all.
@Donace – I like the color pink but I don’t think I would want it on my site.
Sounds like an awesome date – don’t sue yourself.

Hi Kristi – Do you think you would use it on any of your sites?
February 15, 2009 at 2:47 pm
Haha. Well, I like hallmark cards… the illustrations and the sappy verses! :-)
These are definitely interesting themes, but I doubt many people could really use them for an extended period of time.
