(Anti) Social-Lists 5/31/09

Happy Last Day of May!! It would seem that I’ve been in a WordPress frame of mind – almost all of my links this week are about WordPress. Now if I can just find a video of a WordPress kitty ;-)

  • 100 Amazing Free WordPress Themes for 2009 – Smashing Magazine has gathered a list of the 100 best WordPress themes of this year. And the best part is they are absolutely free.
  • Watch the World According to Monsanto Online for Free David, from The Good Human, has posted links to this online documentary. If you want to be seriously disturbed by what Monsanto is doing to our food supply, watch this.
  • Design a Stylish Mail Icon in Photoshop A photoshop tutorial for creating a cool looking email icon that even I can follow. ;-)
  • 10 Best CSS Practices to Improve Your Code – Just what the title says. If you write your own CSS, this is a great list to follow.
  • 30 Untypical WordPress Sites 30 sites that are possibly using WordPress in unusual ways. Maybe half of them really are.
  • The One Freelancing Mistake That You Don’t Want to Make The #1 mistake not to make is publicly complaining about a client. The client might just see those words and you will be damaging your professional reputation. If you must complain, I recommend complaining about the off the wall emails you receive from people that you would never ever accept as a client. ;-)
  • Things I Learned About WordPress Themes – Ajith has been looking for a new theme and wrote up a great list about what he learned while on his quest. Ajith has since decided to build his own theme.
  • Official Footloose Live Open Twitter Thread – Recently William Wolfrum live tweeted the movie Footloose. It was very funny :-) Here is the article with the tweets and videos from the film.
  • 100 Resources for Thesis WordPress Theme Users – A huge list of Thesis resources. I’m glad to see these lists being gathered because until recently the information has been scattered or only available on the DIY forums.
  • Bunny recently passed away at The Elephant Sanctuary. This video is a remembrance of her life.
  • I love Tori Amos. Her new album came our recently and I have been listening to it non-stop. This is a performance of Curtain Call from SXSW in March. This is one of my favorite songs on the album.
